All dogs belonging to residents of Shippensburg Township must be registered with Cumberland County.

Shippensburg Township is an issuing agent for ANNUAL dog licenses in Cumberland County.   The township does NOT issue lifetime licenses.  Those must be obtained directly from the Cumberland County Treasurer’s Office.  More info on lifetime licenses can be found here https://www.ccpa.net/2303/Dog-Licenses

Cumberland County residents may obtain dog licenses in three ways. Always include a $0.50 handling fee for each license application. Payments can be made by CASH OR CHECK ONLY.

  1. In person: Visit the township office during our normal business hours (9AM – 1PM, Mon. – Fri.) at:
    81 Walnut Bottom Road
    Shippensburg, PA 17257
  2. By mail: Complete one application for each dog license needed, include payment (plus $.50 agent fee) and a self-addressed, stamped envelope, and mail it to:
    P.O. Box 219
    Shippensburg, PA 17257
  3. Drop-off: Complete one application for each dog license needed, include payment and a self-addressed, stamped envelope, and place it in the township drop box at:
    81 Walnut Bottom Road
    Shippensburg, PA 17257

The licenses will be mailed back to you within 7 days if application and payment are correct.
